Designed for roll-out awnings – does not fit box-style awnings.
Our complete Heavy Duty anchoring solution for roll-out awnings.
The Heavy Duty Awning Set XL gives you everything you need to securely anchor the larger legs found on Australian roll-out awnings – all packed inside our new XL Storage Bag.
The set combines our Fix&Go Anchor Plates XL with two different types of screw-in pegs, so you can choose the right peg depending on the ground you're camping on.
The HP60 Heavy Duty stainless steel pegs are our main choice for normal, hard and rocky ground, while the large-thread PP13 Long Aluminium pegs are particularly useful in softer ground and sand.
Both screw types are impact-driver compatible, making setup quick and convenient.
Why you'll like it
- Made for roll-out awnings – designed for larger awning feet including Aussie Traveller, Solera, Carefree and Dometic.
- Two specialised peg types – HP60 Heavy Duty stainless steel pegs for normal, hard and rocky ground, plus PP13 Long Aluminium pegs that are particularly effective in softer ground and sand.
- Impact-driver compatible – both included screw types can be installed using an impact driver.
- Quick-release awning legs – open the orange sliders, retract your awning and leave the Anchor Plates secured in the ground.
- Helps prevent lifting and sinking – the Anchor Plate XL creates a large, stable base around each awning foot.
- Storm strap attachment – use the included Storm Hooks to connect a TieStrap 2.0 directly to the Anchor Plate XL when space is limited.
- New XL Storage Bag – plenty of room for the complete set plus additional Peggy Peg accessories.
Fast setup, easy pack-down
Simply place each awning leg inside a Fix&Go Anchor Plate XL, close the orange sliders and secure the plate using the appropriate screw-in pegs for the ground you're camping on.
Need to retract your awning? Simply open the sliders and remove the legs. The Anchor Plates can stay secured exactly where they are, ready for when you extend your awning again.
Fix&Go Anchor Plate XL
The Fix&Go Anchor Plate XL was developed specifically for the larger feet found on roll-out awnings.
It securely holds your awning foot while still allowing you to release it in seconds using the two orange sliders.
The large plate also creates a wider support area underneath the awning foot, helping prevent it from sinking into softer ground while the screw-in pegs secure it against lifting.
The Anchor Plate XL can be used with screw-in pegs from across the Peggy Peg range.
Which awnings does it fit?
The Fix&Go Anchor Plate XL is designed for roll-out awnings, including:
- Aussie Traveller
- Solera
- Carefree
- Dometic
Each Anchor Plate XL includes a removable inner adapter designed for Dometic roll-out awnings.
If you're using an Aussie Traveller, Solera or Carefree awning, simply turn the plate upside down, squeeze the levers and remove the inner adapter.
Awnlux and Global Heritage awnings require our alternative sliders and adapter plates due to the different shape of their awning feet. Please select the appropriate version when ordering.
Not sure which awning style you have?
Roll-out awnings generally have larger, bulkier legs and a round front tube around which the awning fabric rolls.
Box-style awnings, such as many Fiamma and Thule models, use much smaller legs that fold completely back into a rectangular cassette. These require our standard Fix&Go Anchor Plate 2.0 instead.
Which peg should I use?
HP60 Heavy Duty:
Your main choice for normal, hard and rocky ground. The stainless steel construction and slimmer thread make it well suited to harder surfaces, particularly when installed with an impact driver.
PP13 Long Aluminium:
Can be used across different ground types, but its large thread makes it especially useful in softer ground and sand, where it provides excellent holding power.
The latest PP13 has been upgraded for use with an impact driver and also features improved retaining rings for better grip with our hooks, together with the Peggy Peg logo directly on the screw.
Using the Anchor Plate XL in sand
The Anchor Plate XL is elevated compared with the standard Fix&Go Anchor Plate 2.0, making it particularly useful on softer and sandy ground.
Use the open mounting holes on the sides of the plate and secure it with one of the included PP13 Long Aluminium pegs. The large PP13 thread provides additional holding power in soft ground and helps prevent the plate from sinking or moving.
What are the Storm Hooks for?
The included Storm Hooks allow you to attach a TieStrap 2.0 directly to the Anchor Plate XL.
This is particularly useful on narrow campsites or where privacy screens, sunshades or other obstacles make a conventional forward-angled storm strap difficult to use.
It also helps keep straps closer to the awning leg and out of your main campsite walkway.

Important
Always stop tightening once a screw peg stops moving forward. For extremely hard or compacted ground, pre-drilling can make installation easier.
Although both the HP60 and upgraded PP13 are impact-driver compatible, always use the appropriate peg for the ground conditions.
The Fix&Go system provides a secure anchoring solution, but awnings should always be retracted when weather conditions exceed the awning manufacturer's recommendations. No anchoring system can make an extended awning storm-proof.
Which awning style do I own?

Leg comparison
The legs of a box-style awning are usually much smaller compared to a roll-out awning. These are so compact that they can fit back into their cassette while the roll-out awning is only retracted and attached to the side of your caravan. Roll-out awning legs seem a lot more bulky compared box-style awnings. This is also why we needed to develop an XL anchor plate for these awnings:

The pictures are just for the purpose of comparison, there is other pegs included in the bundle.
Style and sail track comparison
Box-style awnings have an edgy-shaped box that contains the extendable poles/frames containing the awning feet. The roll-out awnings have a round cylinder-shaped front that rolls the awning cloth up. Usually, 2-3 sail tracks are available, while most box-style awnings only have one sail track and max two with brands like Fiamma.
